简介：该剧讲述了二十世纪九十年代初的中西部山区，赵、柳两个不同姓氏的村庄因为一场天灾合并成一个村子，村支书赵书和对由于自然灾害和两个村子多年积怨等原因造成的贫困现状痛心疾首，一心想改变家乡的贫困面貌，同时，他还要处理好与以柳大满为代表的柳氏村民之间的关系。当年曾经跟随父亲下放到村子里的国文对这片土地有着深厚的感情，他与赵书和、柳大满在少年时都是好友，国文进入政府部门工作后始终关注着村里的情况，让这片土地摆脱贫困也是他的多年夙愿。三个人为了摆脱贫困做出各种努力和尝试，两代人前赴后继投身扶贫事业，最终使村庄彻底摆脱了贫困。
